The Simpsons Pulled From Venezuela TV

(sky) -- The country's television regulator received a number of complaints about the animated series, which was filling an 11am weekday timeslot.

It has now been replaced by Baywatch Hawaii.

"It had to be taken off," station spokeswoman Elba Guillen said.

"They consider it to be a series that isn't appropriate for that time because it isn't appropriate for children."

The station was forced to yank the programme despite it having the "highest levels of viewership for that morning timetable in the history of the channel", according to Perez Nahim, the station's general manager. full story
