(gadgetshow.five.tv) -- And you thought your iPhone had a decent battery. Philips' Xenium 9@9j delivers 10 hours talk time and an incredible two months standby time.
How does it do it? Well, it uses a humble AAA battery - yep, just like the ones you'd find in your TV remote control. The user slips this into a space at the bottom of the phone, where it acts as a backup for the main lithium ion battery - which in itself supplies enough power for eight hours talk time and a month of standby.
When the li-ion battery gets a little low, the AAA tops it up, so in theory you could swap out the AAA every few weeks and never need to charge the Xenium the old-fashioned way.
The phone also has standard issue features like Bluetooth, a basic camera and a music player, but don't get too excited: it's not scheduled for a European launch, and at the time of writing is destined only for the Asian market. Shame
