(dbtechno) -- Microsoft announed on Friday that users who use the Safari web browser that is produced by Apple, leave their systems open to a security hole that permits potentially harmful files to be downloaded to a user’s machine and run without a prompt from the user. Microsoft security researcher Nitesh Dhanjani warned that Safari has a vulnerability which allows any website to “carpet bomb” the users Desktop (Windows), or Downloads directory (Apple), with unwanted files.
Dhanjani alerted Apple of this issue, and they did not seem to concerned and has basically said that they will fix the problem when they have a chance. Microsoft has taken a different approach and they have a security release forthcoming that should fix the issue.
