(BBC) -- US military officials in Japan have introduced new restrictions on personnel after a serviceman admitted killing a Japanese taxi driver.
The sale of alcohol at a base near Tokyo has been banned and travel restrictions imposed in an effort to placate the local population.
The sailor, who is 22, is reported to have told investigators he killed the man last month.
He is expected to be handed over to the Japanese authorities later. full story
