Scientists discover biggest meteorite ever to hit Britain


Curious coast: Sculpted by the ancient meteorite

(dailymail) -- It hurtled to Earth at 38,000mph and exploded on impact with the force of more than 1,000 nuclear bombs.

Anyone nearby would have been burnt to a crisp by the scorching 200mph winds that swept across the land in its wake.
