Mammoth film tops US box office

10,000 BC took the top spot
despite bad reviews


(BBC) -- Prehistoric adventure 10,000 BC has topped the North American box office chart in its first week of release.

Godzilla director Roland Emmerich's movie tells the story of a young mammoth hunter's quest to secure the future of his tribe.

The film took $35.7m (£17.7m) on its opening weekend, beating Disney comedy College Road Trip, which opened in second place with $14m (£6.9m). read more...
